Lazy, hazy days

There are many things in this world that I am. I’m sarcastic, moody, crazy (in a good way), funny at times and last but certainly not least: LAZY.

The battery on one of our fire alarms has been beeping now for a few weeks. You see, the hubs and I are both deaf in one ear so hearing which one it really is is harder than it looks. But I have a feeling which one it is. I just don’t care.

It’s like we have this constant little bird chriping in our house and every time I hear the little beep beep, it reminds me how lazy I really am.

So, last night, I decided to try and do something un-lazy. I sent out, I think, 3 more letters to agents (aka queries) about my book. I realized, after looking at the running list I keep, that I had not done so since december. Three full months.

Someone already replied this morning. Wants to see the first chapter. That makes me happy. She would be the third person to actually request to see more. Out of 52. Yeah, 3/52 is my going rate right now. One of those three rejected it. The other hasn’t replied, and I sent the damn thing in November.

I’ll take that as a no. I guess I’m worried that I’ll send this off and she’ll hate it, thus ruining my chances of anyone ever reading my book. Guess I’ll have to get off my ass tonight and re-read my first chapter and see what happens.

Well, a “send me the first chapter” is at least a step in the right direction!

Tee Hee! Get out of my head!! We had the same thing at our house but it drove me f*ckn nuts!! So I remember to get the 9volt batteries and I’m the one climbing up onto a stool (here inh Aus that means chair type thing, hope its the same there) balanced on a troop of wobbly things from the circus round the corner and now…ha ha…I want to get a bird for my daughter. Who really is the reason that I make sure the fire alarms are fully operational. Just in case….
Please note I AM NOT ADVOCATING you climb on anything wobbly at the moment!!
