Fine Already

Captain Meanie (aka The Hubs) is pulling rank. I have a plane ticket for 9pm tonight with Ellie. I’m not happy, in fact, I’ve spent all day long crying. I do not want to go. I want to stay with him. Everyone I know IRL is staying. I feel like a stupid wuss for going.

Considering that our flight is at 9pm (Ellie bed time and she ONLY sleeps in a crib) the flights are all delayed because people are not showing up to work and that I will have to HOLD A 14-MONTH-OLD in MY LAP, this SUCKS.

My fingernail still hurts as it is MISSING.

So everyone can be happy now. Thank you for all your nice emails. I will continue on with my crying and obsessively stacking our “supplies”: the donuts will look very nice on top of the oatmeal cream pies.

Update: Shoot. Me. Now. If I can even find a road open to the airport? Here is the security checkin line.

Glad to hear that your leaving..it’s not worth the risk of staying home. But..why isn’t “the hubs” going to??

uhmm a 9 pm flight? Best leave for the airport now. Seriously, I think you might be better at home and not stuck in the car on a long thin parking lot. Be careful.

Glad you’re going. It sucks that hubs is staying behind, an extra pair of hands is handy on the plane. Good luck.

So glad you are going! That line looks absolutely awful — but it’s indoors with AC — and it would be much worse afterwards pregnant, with a baby in tow, standing in a similar line outdoors for ice and MREs.

Be safe — you, baby and the hubs!

SJ, I sent L and G-girl (at the time 8 weeks old) to Washington while I rode out Charlie last year in FL. It was the right thing to do (sending the girls away). Don’t be upset, don’t cry. I know…BELIEVE ME I KNOW what a pain in the ass it must be. I’ve been through it all. Baby, too. But…(insert images of Katrina survivors/evacuees here).

“Nuff said. The Hubs will be OK. You’ll see. These are the excruciating decisions one must make for her family.

Listen, if the first flight you can takes you to Vancouver, Canada get on it! I would love to have you safe at my place. If you can’t talk the hubs into coming too, know it is only a 4 or 5 hour flight home when things are settled. Email me, okay if you want my phone numbers.

Take care…hugs from Canada to you.

If you’re going back to OK, you’ll have the opportunity to molest RoMi’s other one. Woo hoo!

Take care of yourself and your precious cargo. Have a safe trip.

God speed. And, I think you should pull rank as the pregnant wife and insist the Hubs come along. That is too much work for one preggo gal to do! Oh yeah, and he’d be safe too.

    Hugs.

I wish your husband was going with you but I assume there’s a specific reason he isn’t that you just haven’t mentioned, and I’m glad that you’re getting out of harm’s way. And I hope that the traffic and check-in are not as hell-ish as they sound. Stay safe!

Glad you and the babes are going, but what the hell is it with the men staying behind? It won’t be good for you if your worrying about him. I’d kick my husbands arse until he agreed to come and he’s half the one and a half the size I am. Here’s wishing you a safe journey x

p.s I was a lurker for many moons until today and I think your fab.

I think you made a wise decision in not going. I am sure you guys will all be safe. I can’t begin to imagine what it is like since I live in Canada and we hardly ever see hurricanes. Take care of yourself and your family.

Good luck with riding it out. Even though I’m thousands of miles away, I do understand staying - I like being in a house with no power more than a car with no power.

i understand why you’re staying, the threat of no power in the house beats being stranded out in your car. or something like that, you get me? keep filling up everything you have with water tho, it’s the most valuable thing to have just in case. and batteries. a radio to listen to is your best friend when everything else is out. *hugs* stay safe.
