another one bites the dust

It turns out that another reporter has gotten fired for doing the exact same things I did. He was also a features reporter who posted anonymously. His blog is long gone (how unfun!) but I read a few of his entries posted elsewhere. Let’s just say the word “dick” was used.

HA!

Anyway. So then I go from link to link and I see a site that has all of us fired people listed. And I’m number eight! Of course, they would go and use my “street name” (Isn’t that so much more fun than “real name?”) so you don’t get a link.

And, by the way, where the hell is my book deal? Some people got fired for posting pictures of themselves. Well….I’m cute, damnit! I write! I write books! Where the hell is my book deal?

Why is my picture not in the NY Times? I could discuss therapy and say how my therapists says “You made a mistake. You aren’t a mistake.”

I know. I know. I didn’t become a “media whore” and contact CNN and FOX about my firing. I just laid a little low and used it as a freelance story so I could get some freelance experience. But to get a book deal? My little mind says “no fair.”

I was too busy popping out babies and baking brownies.

I’ve often wondered what you were actually sacked for. Was it blogging on works computer during work time? Or insubordination because of references to co-workers. It confuses me a bit because I always thought that freedom of speech means exactly that. As long as there is no slander /libel involved. Also how did they find out about your blog?

Why didn’t Finney comment for the story? Is there litigation involved? Or did he get sacked for something else? It seems strange that he wouldn’t say anything.

Also, say buh-bye to freedom of speech–Bush in in Da House and the Patriot Act supercedes everything in the Constitution.

One of the advantages to living with your boss is that you can blog all you want at work, about work, and what a jerk your boss is being…and not only won’t you get fired…but you might also get taken out to dinner.

One of the advantages of working for yourself is that you can blog all you want at work, about work, and what swine freaks most bosses are in general…and not only won’t you get fired, but you can also go out to dinner.
