A Lush Birthday

I had a GREAT birthday, in case you were wondering. WHY? Because The Hubs is such an absolutely wonderful husband, he is so thoughtful and made the day just GREAT.

And of course, it revolved around food. I like to eat.

Donuts for breakfast, Chipolte burritos for lunch and dinner at a Mexican restaurant called Chuy’s. It is the same restaurant that the Bush Twins got busted at for underage drinking but they just opened up one here in Suburbia.

Hurray for suburbia!

So, since it was my birthday of gluttony, I ordered “a drink.” And by drink I mean a margarita. And it had swirls in it! Swirls!

And I drank my drink and somewhere around the end of that drink, I started to feel the effects. It doesn’t take much. I’m a lush.

I think I was touching the waiter. I told him he was a great waiter when he really wasn’t. And then I fill out the “comment” card. Did you know that Bill Gates goes to Chuy’s but he signs his name “Kitty Catt?”

He does.

And then I ordered another drink, because that is what lushes do. The Hubs explained to me that bad things would happen if I finished that drink and threw up. Why? Well, on our Honeymoon at Disney World, we were drinking these very large margaritas and he joked around and said “Let’s race!”

Turns out it was a one person race. And I won a trip to the bathroom where I threw up a very expensive dinner. And then I blamed the waitress for getting me drunk.

So I did what any self-respecting lush would do. I asked for a “to-go” cup so I could put my “water” in it. And if I remembered correctly, I used “quotation marks” when I said “water.”

So I left the restaurant with my to go cup of alcohol (Hey! It wasn’t an open container! I could drink it in the car!) and we went home.

And then I made a big deal about wanting Irish Twins and the Hubs is all “Uh, I don’t think we can afford another kid right now.”

And I’ll leave it at that because some things are better left unsaid.

    Oh Chuy’s….how I miss you.

As for open containers….I thought you could have open intoxicants in a car as long as you aren’t *holding* it while you drive. Like you could be drinking it at a stop light but once you start driving you hand it to your passenger and you’re all set.

    I love you Texas.

Happy Birthday! Could it even have been a birthday unless you had that last Margarita everyone warned you against? But you held your own! ( Braveheart-style war cry goes here )
